What is Anushthan?
An anushthan is a disciplined, time-bound mantra sadhana — typically 11, 21, 40 or 108 days.
Daily rules
- Fixed time and seat (asana)
- Pure vegetarian sattvic food
- Brahmacharya
- Sankalp before starting
- Fixed mala count daily (commonly 11 mala = 1,188 reps)
Completion
On the final day, perform purnahuti homa and dakshina to a brahmin.
